Lynda I. Chung, a litigation partner with Valensi Rose, will present a program, “Money, Marriage, Debt & Death – Handling Decedents’ Estates and Trusts with Community Property or Debt Issues,” at the 28th Annual PFAC Educational Conference, on Thursday, June 1, 2023, in San Francisco.
The conference runs from Wednesday, May 31, through Saturday, June 3. Registration is available online.
Following a spouse’s death, the surviving spouse and heirs are often left with the decedent’s debts. Lynda’s program will discuss how California community property law affects probate and trust administration processes (including creditors’ claims against the decedent’s estates and post-mortem property disputes between the surviving spouse and the decedent’s heirs.) It will also offer practical tips to handle such disputes.
The Professional Fiduciary Association of California, or PFAC, provides education, advocacy, and advancement for professional fiduciaries, who may serve as a trustee, guardian, estate executor, healthcare representative, conservator, or agent under a Power of Attorney, and other roles.
A member of our Litigation Group, Lynda specializes in probate and business litigation matters, including will contests, trust contests, financial elder abuse, fiduciary accounting, real property, and construction contract disputes, creditor's rights, fraudulent transfers, and disputes between shareholders or members of closely-held companies.
